Living in the Conejo Valley gives you access to tons of fun, holiday events that you can enjoy with the whole family. Mark your calendar for these holiday events around the Conejo Valley that are sure to get you into the holiday spirit.

Let your furry friends get celebrate the season with Santa Paws at The Collection at Riverpark! Get your pets picture taken with Santa on December 16th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. All well-behaved pets and their people are invited out to take part in the exciting event.

The 29th Annual Ventura Harbor Holiday Parade of Lights & Fireworks is taking place on December 18th and 19th. The harbor will be lit up as boats with thousands of sparkling lights float on the water. The theme of this year’s event is “Surf, Sand & Santa,” and is sure to be one of the best events of the season.  The event will also include seaside shopping and dining and a carnival until the sun goes down.

On Sunday, December 20th, get your heart pumping with the 4th Annual Holly Jolly Half Marathon, 5K, and 10K in Camarillo. The course takes participants over rolling hills and along the paved bike path through the surrounding Camarillo neighborhoods.

Local December events that the whole family will enjoy.

With your days filling up with prep for the upcoming holidays, it can be easy to get a little stressed out. To help you relax and enjoy time with your family, head out into the community and check out these Conejo Valley local events!

On December 6th, check out the Holiday Boutique at the Oak Park Community Center. The Boutique runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and is hosted by the Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbra. Part of the proceeds will help to benefit local programs of education, support, and hope that is provided by the Cancer Support Community. The free Boutique will feature tons of unique holiday gifts, hand-crafted items, and décor.

The 54th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade and Holiday Carnival is taking place on Saturday, December 12th and is not an event that you want to miss out on. Starting at 10 a.m. at Las Posas and Temple Avenue, the parade will travel down Las Posas and turn left on Carmen Drive, ending at the Camarillo Community Center. The parade will feature bands, floats, cars, and much more! Make sure to stick around after the parade to enjoy Santa’s Village Holiday Carnival at the Camarillo Community Center from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., which will include inflatable attractions, carnival games, live entertainment, arts and crafts, food vendors, and more!

Don’t Miss Out On These Easter Events!

Easter Events

Are you ready for the Easter holiday? If you are still looking for a fun, family friendly way to celebrate Easter, make sure to check out all of these events happening in the local community that people of all ages will enjoy!

Head over to The Lakes at Westlake tonight from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. for the Easter Egg-stravaganza! The exciting event includes an Easter egg hunt, Easter petting zoo, tasty treats, prizes, and more! You will also have the opportunity to take a picture with the Easter bunny! Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

On April 4th, head out to the Camarillo Animal Shelter from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the 5th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza. There will be an Easter egg hunt that is bigger than in years past, face painting, henna tattoos, a jolly jump, arts and crafts, and more. There will also be a DJ to keep you entertained all day, and food trucks to keep you full. You even have the chance to learn about some of the animals at the shelter from the various animal presentations. You will not want to miss out on your chance to take a picture with the Easter bunny!

Are You Ready for St. Patrick’s Day?

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

St. Patrick’s Day is just a couple of weeks away, which means it is the perfect time to start planning for your holiday festivities. Make sure to mark your calendar for these exciting local events in the community that the whole family can enjoy together.

Head out to the Ventura Elks Lodge on March 14th for the 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Ventura. The parade stats on East Main Street in front of the San Buenaventura Mission at 10 a.m. and heads up East Main Street and will end on the corner of East Main Street and North Chestnut. Almost 100 entrants will be marching with the parade.

The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is also happening on March 14th. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., bring the whole family out for a day full of food, entertainment, and activities. The free event is feature The Tribal Caravan Belly Dancing Performances, The Claddagh School of Irish Dancers, and live Irish music performed by Innisfree. There will also be plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including rock climbing, face painting, and many different inflatables.

St. Patrick’s Day has been officially celebrated since the 17th century as a way to honor St. Patrick, who was a patron of Ireland. Although St. Patrick was not Irish, he returned to the country after escaping the country from slavery to help spread the Christian religion. He is not credited with bringing the Christian religion to Ireland.

While St. Patrick’s Day is only celebrated on the 17th in America, the holiday is celebrated from March 15th through the 19th at the St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Dublin, which is the capital of Ireland. During the Festival, there is a carnival, parade, dances, and a treasure hunt.

Things to Do in Conejo Valley, California for Summer 2014

Schools are out for the summer months leaving parents looking for exciting events in Conejo Valley, California. Outdoor activities that take advantage of the natural beauty of the area lure kids and adults alike out in SoCal. Add to that list plenty of options for indoor entertainment that are perfect for those scorching summer days. Here at Cappuccino Insurance Agency we encourage the residents of Conejo Valley to get out and enjoy the summer months with the following events.

On Friday, June 13 at 7 pm hikers of all ages meet at Malibu Bluffs Park for a hike beneath the light of the full moon. The hike will include trails that run to the sea. Note that the trails can be steep in areas, so hikers should wear sturdy footwear. Additionally, hikers need to bring their own flashlight. If it rains, the hike will be canceled.

For Father’s Day weekend, the Live Oak Music Festival will take place overlooking Santa Barbara. This three day festival runs from Friday to Sunday, June 13 to 15. In addition to a music festival featuring folk, blues, classical and gospel tunes, camping will be offered. This family friendly festival also includes arts and crafts activities geared at younger children.

Fourth of July is one of the biggest holidays of the year in Conejo Valley. The Reagan Presidential Library will host a family focused event on Friday, July 4 from 10 am to 3 pm. There will be Presidential look-alikes, a patriotic concert, and storytelling. American foods and face painting, in addition to kid-friendly games will also be a part of the festivities. Admission to the event is free.

On Wednesday, July 9 at 6 pm “Nite Moves: Swimming, Running and Biathlon” will be held at Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara. In addition to entertainment and food, the event includes 5K footraces and swimming in view of Anacapa Island. Participants should keep an eye out for the racing fleet Wet Wednesday, which will be part of the scenic backdrop of this invigorating event.
